THE BACHELOR AND THE BOBBY SOXER (1947) .
Serious Judge Myrna Loy meets in court playboy painter Cary Grant and disapproves of his life , but her sister and ward Shirley Temple goes bananas over him. To cure the schoolgirl, Grant behaves like a teen-age idiot. Guess who ends up getting whom ? Cast includes singer Rudy Vallee who is seldom given credit for his marvelous comic talents. Sidney Sheldon's screenplay was rather generously given an Oscar for this light, even slight picture. But it is good, relaxed, uncomplicated entertainment, made even more attrractive by its adult cast's idiosyncratic, undimmable appeal.
